Bumblebeez return with a whole new kind of tropical Indian endless summer with Summer Bum, their new release on Bang Gang. It’s the first single to hit the towel rack off their new long player coming in December 2011.
Summer Bum is the kind of post-carribean jiggy-beach baby that would have UB40 crying into their red wine & turn your warm-water into a coconut cocktail. As you’d expect from a BBZ track there’s more than just a bit going on; mellow expansiveness fused with a hotbox claustrophobia like this doesn’t happen everyday or by itself. Interrupted guitars posing as dub horns, half a siren, & surgical synth steel drum under a sunscreen dripping Vila. It’s a effortless party tune that draws inspiration from an epic vacation in Sicily where the buns and bums of European summer ran wild and free. It was brought to life in a Copenhagen basement this is the Bumblebeez at their most forward thinking.
With the production help of Jagwar Ma and Harvey & the mix being controlled by ‘King Zdar’ this is the extended BBZ family in full force. A flash forward to the future request line – a vibrant slice of immediacy that bleeds the warmer months of the year without forcing it on you (even with the word “summer” in there).
Bumblebeez return to the World Wild Web with a HUGE remix pack that showcases a whole spectrum of the Bang Gang Recordings family. The original web sheriff has rounded up all the ravers in his paddock and put them into one shed together For a remix hoedown.
On the cusp of their debut release (Acid One) on Bang Gang Franz & Shape drop in to transform ‘Rodeo’ into a extended acidic big beat monster straight from the record racks of 98 and into the digital future of 2011. Expect fuckloads more of this nonsense from them in the coming months.
Jagwar Ma (the alias of boy wonder and mega producer Jono Ma) manchesterfies ‘Betty Jane’ and proves that yes – a computer can love you….. even as much as you love it.
BBZ have polished off a pirate mix of ‘I dont dance to the robot’. This booty version will have you doing the tango and the fox-trot Simultaneously while googling sexy pirate pic’s of Chris Colonna.
